The plain version
Privacy.
What we collect, what we do not, and why. Short, because there is not much of it.
The short version
We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not ask you to create an account. Most of this site is a static page that stores nothing about you.
What we collect
Server logs
Our web server records the page requested, a timestamp, the browser's user-agent string and the IP address the request came from — ordinary server logs, kept for security and abuse prevention.
Cloudflare
This site is served through Cloudflare, which sits between you and our server and can see the same connection details. Cloudflare acts as our processor for that traffic.
Ask Frankie
Messages you type into the chat are sent to our own server and answered by a language model we host ourselves. They are not sent to any third-party AI provider and are not used to train anything. Message content is held in memory to answer you and is not written to a database. Please do not type anything confidential into it.
The Reef
If you enter The Reef, you sign a message with a Solana wallet to prove you control it. We see your public wallet address. We never see, ask for, or store a private key or seed phrase. The signature proves ownership; it is not a transaction and moves no funds.
The Reef runs on Solana devnet, a test network. The $REEF token there has no value. Anything written to a public blockchain is public and permanent, and is outside our control.
Cookies
We set no advertising or analytics cookies. The Reef uses your browser's session storage to remember the wallet address you signed in with for the length of that browser session; closing the tab clears it.
What we do not collect
No account, no name, no email address unless you choose to write to us. No cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles, no data brokers.
Who we share it with
Nobody, except the infrastructure needed to serve the site (our hosting provider and Cloudflare) and Solana's public network when you choose to interact with it. We do not sell or rent personal data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because we hold so little and it is not tied to an identity, this is usually a request about server logs. Write to info@octolus.io and we will act on it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date below. This site is early and evolving; we would rather tell you plainly than bury it.
